Part of the team! 10/18

Today started out very frustrating but ended up soooo rewarding.  First, the people in charge of getting a pass for me to be in the PanAmerican Athlete's village did not set it up so we thought I would not be able to have access to Lauryn.  However the resourcefully person I am.....I just showed up in a Mexican Taxi at the Village and a woman took pity on my and helped me get a day pass!!!  The people of Mexico have been so wonderful and nice!  So I finally found Lauryn and we had great hugs.  We took a tour of the dinning hall and then went to where she was to get on the bus to go to the stadium.  We were not sure if I could get on the team bus.  The oldest member of the team invited me to ride on the bus.  Not only did I get to ride with the team to the stadium, I got to go underneath the stadium with the team, went to the locker room and then was escorted up to the blocked off seats in the stadium where other teams sit to watch the games.  WOW!  I felt so important.  No one questioned me and they let me come and go as I pleased.  I ate tacos and pizza and had soda but NO ice.  Not a good idea to drink the water here.  Then when Lauryn's game was over, she and the team came to sit with me and we watched Brazile beat up on Argentina.  Sorry Eugenia! Then I rode the bus with the team back to the village.  We went shopping and then I took a taxi back to my hotel.  I am so proud of myself for getting around Mexico on my own.  While we were with the team, numerous people would stop Lauryn and her team mates and ask for photos with them.  I was truly with celeberties.  Tomorrow, I am going to the men's TnT game with the team and then hang out with Lauryn for a bit.  This morning, I met a very nice mom from Canada who's son was competing in Tae Kwon Do.  The family is from India but the kids were born and raised in Toronto Canada.  It was so cool to meet another mom who is here by herself and who speaks English.  We are going to hang out tomorrow.
